J. Mark Penny is a Managing Director at Hempstead & Co. Inc., a business appraisal firm, based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He is designated as an accredited senior appraiser in the discipline of business valuation. He also holds specialty business valuation designations in intangible assets and appraisal review and management. A member of the American Society of Appraisers’ Philadelphia Chapter for over 25 years, Mr. Penny served as chapter President in 2002. On a national level, Mr. Penny served as the ASA’s International President in 2013-2014. He has also served as Treasurer of the ASA’s Business Valuation Committee and is a past chair of the Society’s Ethics Committee. He has also served as the Chair of the ARM discipline committee from 2021-2023, and is an instructor for the ARM 202 course. Mr. Penny is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from Temple University.
