Mr. Pumphrey specializes in business enterprise valuations, purchase price allocations, impairment analyses, and the valuation of claims within complex capital structures for public and private companies under IRC 409A, ASC 350, ASC 360, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 820, and ASC 852. Prior to joining VRC, Mr. Pumphrey was with Hempstead & Co., where he provided valuation opinions for estate and gift tax planning, financial reporting, employee stock ownership plans, litigation support, and the issuance of incentive stock options. Mr. Pumphrey is a frequent presenter on valuations for financial reporting. He has presented before national and local chapters of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), has conducted webinars on behalf of the ASA and Business Valuation Resources (BVR), and has guest lectured on valuation topics at Drexel University. He is currently a member of the Appraisal Foundation’s Working Group preparing a Valuation Advisory focused on the topic of Company-Specific Risk Premiums. Mr. Pumphrey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in finance and real estate from Temple University. He also holds the designations of chartered financial analyst (CFA) and accredited senior appraiser (ASA), issued by the CFA Institute and the American Society of Appraisers, respectively.
