Board Meeting: 5:30pm – 6:00pm*
Dinner: 6:00PM – 6:30PM
Program: 6:30PM – 7:30PM
Speaker: Charles Rosoff, ASA, MRICS of Appraisal Services Associates
Forensic Appraisers of Fine Art, Antiques and Decorative Arts
Topic: Gift Tax Appraisals for Fine Art
Gifting fine art in the U.S. requires navigating IRS fair market value (FMV) rules and potential gift taxes ranging from 18% to 40%. The gift tax exclusion for 2026 remains unchanged from 2025, but exceeding the limit doesn’t necessarily result in owing tax due to a high lifetime estate and gift tax exemption. Please join Charles for a review of gift tax appraisals for fine art and the associated impact of the One Bit Beautiful Bill (OBBB) signed into law on July 4, 2025.
* Board meeting is open to ASA members only.
