March Meeting: ASA Leadership Challenges

The March Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The Board of Directors will meet at 5:00 pm; all ASA members are welcome. The general meeting starts at 6:30. The guest speakers will be ASA International Vice President, J. Mark Penny, ASA, Region 1 Governor Susan M. Golashovsky, ASA and Real Property Committee Chair Samuel F. Luceno, FASA, who will talk about their “ASA Leadership Duties & Responsibilities.”

PennyGolashovskyLucenoMr. Penny (top left) is a Business Valuation appraiser who is a Partner and Managing Director of Hempstead & Co., the Haddonfield, NJ financial consulting firm.  A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in economics, he holds an MBA from Temple University.  Mr. Penny has qualified as an expert witness in several states and has lectured on business valuation for employee ownership and estate planning groups.

Ms. Golashovsky is a Personal Property appraiser and the Principal of the Doylestown, PA firm of Susan Golashovsky, ASA.  A graduate of Temple University, she holds a Winterthur Museum certificate in "Decorative Arts in Early America," and is ASA-accredited in General Residential Contents, Antiques & Decorative Arts, Antique Furniture and American Folk Art. Ms. Golashovsky is a frequent lecturer on Land Course Preparation at seminars and symposia and for adult education courses.

Mr. Luceno is a Fellow of the American Society of Appraisers and holds dual accreditation in Real Property, Urban and  Machinery & Technical Specialties, Machinery & Equipment. A Certified General Appraiser and a Real Estate Broker in Pennsylvania, he holds an M.S. degree in the valuation sciences and is the Principal of the Hazelton, Pa firm of Luceno Valuation Services. A course developer and instructor on valuation topics, he has also served as a litigation consultant and expert witness.

The speakers are experienced appraisers who have all served ASA in a variety of Chapter, Regional and International capacities.  Their multi-disciplinary insights on the duties and responsibilities of leadership should prove both interesting and informative.  Please register early for this educational and productive evening which qualifies for one hour of ASA Continuing Education Credit.
