The Philadelphia Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers will sponsor an all-discipline National USPAP 2014-2015 7-hour Update Course on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The course will be held at the Marriott SpringHill Suites, 430 Plymouth Rd, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 (Phone: 610-940-0400). The instructor will be Robert J. Luciani, ASA. Sign-in starts at 8:30am.
The National USPAP Update Course from the Appraisal Foundation is a one-day course that focuses on recent changes to USPAP requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers. This course, which clarifies several commonly misunderstood aspects of USPAP, will aid appraisers in all areas of appraisal practice seeking updated USPAP competency, including those subject to state licensing or certification and continuing education requirements imposed by professional organizations, client groups, or employers.
This course is required for all State Licensed or Certified Real Property Appraisers and Assessors.
The cost of the 1-day course is $135 per person and includes a student manual, coffee breaks and snacks. The USPAP 2014-2015 book is available to attendees at the discounted price of $60. Attendees must either purchase the book or bring a laptop with Internet access to class.
Seating is limited, so please register early for the course, which meets the USPAP continuing education requirements for most appraisers, including the ASA requirement of one 7-hour USPAP update course every five years for accredited (AM, ASA, FASA) appraisers.

Mr. Mundy will conduct a guided tour that will include the League’s history, art, and architecture. Jim will also provide a Curator’s Talk about rare and unique items from the League’s archives, ranging from the iconic to the unusual, including an original copy of the 
Mitchell Caspert, who took his B.S. at Syracuse University and his J.D. at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. enjoyed a 20-year career supervising the administration of attorneys and legal professionals at two prominent New York City law firms. After 9/11. he returned to the family business, while maintaining his interest in the law and technology.
Mr. Golkow, who holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, has drafted and negotiated many buy-sell agreements, including model buy-sell provisions for Pennsylvania LLCs as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s PA LLC Forms Committee Task Force. He has also served as an expert witness regarding buy-sell agreements, and is a frequent speaker and lecturer on the topic.
Jim Hurt joined the ASA in March 2012, bringing with him over 17 years experience as a nonprofit executive. A graduate of California State University-Fullerton with an M.A. in Business Administration from National University, he had previously served as as Executive Director for the American Association of Poison Control Centers and the American Poison Control Center Foundation. At these organizations, and others before them, he focused on education programming, branding, communications, strategic planning, and certification and accreditation programs. Conditioned by Jim’s extensive experience in association management, international relations, and public-private partnerships, his talk about ASA’s current outlook is sure to be enlightening.
Mr. Mitchell holds a BA from Gettysburg College and an MBA in Finance from LaSalle University. He joined Haverford Capital Advisors in 1998. His professional experience includes a broad range of business valuation and transaction advisory projects with a particular focus on clients in the healthcare industry. He has substantial experience in valuing pathology and clinical laboratories; radiology and imaging centers; and ambulatory surgery centers. 
Mr. Aglira took his B.S. at James Madison University and is enrolled at Villanova for an M.B.A. in 2014. David specializes in valuations for the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, gaming, retail, and heavy manufacturing industries. He has performed valuations related to mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, corporate restructuring, income tax and tax planning for large and middle market multinational clients across a range of industries.
