The May Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Twenty-Two Gallery at 236 South 22nd Street in Philadelphia. The Board of Directors will meet at 5:30 pm. The general meeting beginning at 6:30 pm will feature a Spanish Wine Tasting and Tapas/Hors D ’Oeuvres hosted by Vinocity founder, Vicki Miller. The Gallery will be exhibiting the paintings and drawings of Philly activist/artist Caryn Kunkle.
Vicki Miller left the prestigious law firm of Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, where she was a partner, to launch Vinocity and a new career hosting wine events that combine “Wine education and tasting in a lively interactive experience.” An engaging host and speaker, Vicki weaves the facts, figures and science of winemaking into stories about wine history and culture that she connects to the wines sampled during Vinocity events.
The Spanish Wine Tasting at Twenty-Two Gallery will include four Spanish wines, a Cava, a Albariño, a Spanish rosé and a Rioja Reserva, starting with glass of wine offered at the door, with the others during the course of the evening, whilst sampling Tapas and a variety of heavy hors d’oeuvres..
- Spanish Tapas Platter, including Manchego cheese, Serrano ham, cured olives, marinated artichokes and
pequillo peppers, with flat breads and crusty rolls. - Pistachio-crusted chicken with pomegranate dipping sauce.
- Mini crab cakes.
- Lobster Mac and cheese bites.
- Hand-carved filet of beef with goat cheese on a potato cake.
- Mini Kobe burgers on sesame seed buns OR mini Beef Wellingtons in pastry.
- Goat cheese and Kalamata olive tarts OR mini quiche.
- Fresh vegetable platter with dips.
- Dessert items.

Dr. Wagner is responsible for conducting research on emerging regional economic issues and managing legislative outreach for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Third District, which includes eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. Dr. Wagner also delivers presentations about the national and regional economy, monetary policy, and the role of the Federal Reserve System. His research interests range from regional economics to state and local public tax structures and from rainy day funds to borrowing costs and pension systems.
A Registered Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania, Mr. Gheorghiu holds a M.Sc. in Engineering Geology/Geophysics from the University of Bucharest, Romania. At Applied Testing and Geosciences, he leads multi-disciplinary teams in complex remedial and civil/geotechnical projects around the globe. Widely published — he has contributed to over 20 publications — he is also a frequent speaker on hydrogeology, groundwater control and site remediation.
The Philadelphia Chapter of the ASA will hold its 11th Annual Spring Business Valuation Seminar program on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Doubletree Hotel in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The program will include a variety of topics presented by key thought leaders. 

A PA Certified Real Estate Appraiser & Assessor, Mr. Luciani is also a PA Licensed Real Estate Broker. He is an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at the Community College of Philadelphia and a Deputy Assessor in the Office of Property Assessment for the City of Philadelphia. Chapter Members are all familiar with the courses he teaches as an AQB (Appraiser Qualifications Board) Certified USPAP Instructor.

The Barnes Foundation was established by Albert C. Barnes in 1922 to promote the advancement of education and the appreciation of the fine arts and horticulture. The Barnes holds one of the finest collections of Post-Impressionist and early Modern paintings, with extensive works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Henri Rousseau, Amedeo Modigliani, Chaim Soutine and Giorgio de Chirico, as well as American masters Charles Demuth, William Glackens, Horace Pippin and Maurice Prendergast, Old Master paintings, important examples of African sculpture and Native American ceramics, jewelry and textiles, American paintings and decorative arts and antiquities from the Mediterranean region and Asia.
Ms. Wurtzel, who is also an adjunct faculty member at Temple, Rutgers and Arcadia Universities, holds a B.A. in economics and finance from Temple’s Fox School of Business, and an M.A. in economics, also from Temple.
