The George Sinclair Professionalism Award
About George
George D. Sinclair, FASA, (1925-2005) joined ASA in 1963 and earned designations in Real Property/Urban and Machinery and Technical Specialties/Machinery and Equipment.
He was ASA’s International President in 1974-75. He also served as a Regional Governor, member of the Machinery and Technical Specialties, Ethics, Reaccreditation and Publications committees, and represented ASA as a member of the Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council.
A resident of Drexel Hill, PA, he was the retired owner of the Keystone Appraisal Company until his death in 2005 of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
In Memoriam
Sinclair Award. In 2003, the Philadelphia Chapter created the George D. Sinclair Professionalism Award to recognize an individual, not necessarily a member of the Chapter, whose actions have enhanced the appraisal profession.
Sinclair Fund. In 2006 the Philadelphia Chapter established a George Sinclair Memorial International Education Fund through the American Society of Appraisers. The Chapter made the initial contribution. ASA members and the public are encouraged to support the fund to continue George’s tradition of generous mentoring.
Sinclair Scholarships. The George D. Sinclair Scholar Award, a full tuition scholarship for a first-year Westminster Theological Seminary student was established through the estate of George Sinclair, a long-time seminary Trustee. In addition, the estate established George D. Sinclair Scholarships, providing 40 percent tuition awards to eight students.
